BOOK BLURB

The Wreck of the Margherita (Danny Lancaster Book #1)

The shipwreck is on the TV news and Danny Lancaster is pretty sure anything washed ashore is fair game. When he and his friends go beachcombing they find an Aladdin’s cave among the mangled, storm-lashed cargo containers. But they uncover more than they bargained for. The discovery draws Danny into a network of gangsters and corrupt politicians. A lap dancer goes missing, Ambrose and Everard are plotting and crime boss Big Eddie Archer wants a word. Then Danny remembers one bloody day in Afghanistan and calls in a debt from his old platoon commander to track down a secret factory. And once Danny gets angry, that’s it. His training is all about speed and ferocity behind enemy lines. The fuse is lit for a bonfire night confrontation. That’s when the real storm breaks. People start to die.

BOOK REVIEW

The book has various threads running through it that twist and wind their way right to the end.  The time taken with them took a while and is the reason for my star rating you will see at the end of my review. Don’t let my reasons though affect what you make of the book. They  all come together  in  an ending that leaves you wanting to carry on following the exploits of Danny Lancaster and his motley assortment of friends. I am lucky in that respect as I got to read and review book two for tomorrows blog, to see how the characters develop.

We are introduced to a tormented, fractured lost soul in Danny Lancaster , but one whose sense of justice sees him skirting along the thin edge between good and bad. As the book contains all the introductions to his friends the storyline takes a while to come together but don’t worry you will get a feel of where the book is going. A rollercoaster of a thrilling ride, with more twists and turns than a corkscrew ride. You will be swept up into the lives of the characters and be engrossed with the world they live in. A main character whose flaws make him who he is today, a likeable rogue, a man who  you want in your corner when life deals you a bad blow. This has the potential to be a great series of books perfect for those who like a roguish , rough, tender leading man.

Thanks to Damppebbles  blog tours for the chance to read and review the book as always these are my own thoughts and opinions.
