One twin ran. The other vanished. Neither escaped…
DON’T TRUST ANYONE
Cat’s twin sister El has disappeared. But there’s one thing Cat is sure of: her sister isn’t dead. She would have felt it. She would have known.
DON’T TRUST YOUR MEMORIES
To find her sister, Cat must return to their dark, crumbling childhood home and confront the horrors that wait there. Because it’s all coming back to Cat now: all the things she has buried, all the secrets she’s been running from.
DON’T TRUST THIS STORY…
The closer Cat comes to the truth, the closer to danger she is. Some things are better left in the past…
Twin sisters who left behind a tragic life together grow up and grow apart. Oceans apart yet when El goes missing while out sailing Cat returns to the home they used to share as small children. A home full of secrets and terror, a home that seems locked in a time warp. As the search for her sister continues Cat must rediscover the reasons behind their estrangement and come to terms with what they north went through during their childhood. A childhood filled with imagination, stories and whimsical adventures that saw the girls transported from the dark house to a dream place called Mirrorland. Refusing to believe her sister is dead Cat has to remember her past in order to accept the here and now.
A complex thriller that took me a while to get into but once i got into the follow of the story it took me on a twisted journey into the darkness inhabited by El and Cat. Two identical girls whose memory of the past differs from each other. The story reveals itself through the eyes and memories of Cat as she uncovers clues left like breadcrumbs by her missing sister El. We follow her through the pain and heartache and eventual realisation of what really occurred during their childhood. Lost secrets are slowly revealed as the tension mounts in the book and the pace just seems to run away with you. A slow burning psychological thriller that takes you on a twisted, chilling ride with plenty of twists to make it all the more interesting.
My thanks to Dave at The Write Reads for my invitation on the tour and my copy of the book, as always they are my own thoughts and opinions on the book.
