Could the kidnapper be linked to the shallow grave?

Taking in Wanda’s thin frame, Jenna knows the poor girl is close to death. She’ll do everything she can to save her, but they’re miles from anywhere and night is falling fast. When Wanda falls, the kidnapper makes his move and Jenna is powerless to stop him taking the young girl’s life. Escaping the same fate, she is wracked with guilt and vows to catch the ruthless killer and bring him to justice.

BOOK REVIEW

Quite by accident Jenna finds herself lost, wet and alone in the dense forest she had been searching with her team. Assessing herself and her meagre supplies she is frightened by the noises coming from the Forest around her when suddenly a young woman races from the undergrowth. The young woman is disoriented and doesn’t know who left her for dead, she knows he’s still looking for her. Meanwhile Kane is way from home and knows nothing if the disappearance of Jenna. It’s down to the tight knit team that are left behind to race against the clock to find Jenna and bring her home safe. The team are thrown into disarray and gripped by the sense of loss when the body of a young woman , beaten beyond recognition but wearing a pice of clothing known to be Jenna’s. Faced with no Kane to rely on and the thought that Jenna is dead the team must stiffen their resolve and find a killer.

Whilst this may be book 20 in the series it feels as fresh and exciting as book 1, it can also be read as a standalone book. Kane and Alton are now a settled married couple with a small soon to be adopted son. Yet as always life is not a breeze for them and their colleagues as we find out from the get go. The small town feel of the books is felt throughout the pages yet the crimes encountered take the tension through the roof. The way the author blends the tension, thrills and the cosy ambience of the small town has the reader engrossed and engaged book after book. With every new book we find out yet another nugget of information of our main characters that adds depth to them and giving us more of an investment in their lives. Avid readers like myself wait with baited breath for the next new crime and adventure that our dynamic duo and their teams face. For those out there who want a cosy town filled with serial killers doing horrendous things. Crimes that send shivers down the spine and thrills by the bucket load then this is the series for you. Grab a warm drink, a comfortable seat and wrap in a fluffy blanket open the book and dive into Black Rock Falls.

My thanks to Bookouture for my blog invite and copy of the book, as always they are my own thoughts and opinions on the book.
