Scientists claim their new sports drug will boost the performance of every athlete in the world. The Lambeth Group send scientist, Gavin Shawlens, to investigate the claim.

The product is stolen, top athletes disappear, and the research team are unaware that their product has a dangerous side effect. Gavin must stop the sports drug launch before more people die.

When Gavin disappears – Zoe Tampsin searches frantically to find him before he becomes the next victim.

As if Zoe hasn’t got enough on her plate. Past events in Gavin’s life catch up with him. A powerful US general decides that Gavin must die to prevent exposure of a 60-year old secret capable of world-changing and power-shifting events.

The chase is on…

A drug that can enhance athletic abilities whilst being legal which company wouldn’t want a part of that. A drug with military application possibilities that will enhance soldiers into super soldiers which country would love to get their hands on that. When a scientist goes rogue and starts using such a drug without proper procedure and using unchecked data its up the The Lambeth Group to investigate. Sending a scientist Gavin and his minder Zoe an elite soldier to investigate they group hopes to get to the bottom of what is happening. Unfortunately various factions don’t want them to succeed and will go to deadly lengths to make sure they don’t.

The action in the book ebbs and flows ensuring the reader never gets bored and the book never gets stale. It has a perfect rhythm that keeps you turning page after page eager to know what comes next.Building up the tension and intrigue the book comes to a deadly ending that leaves you wanting more. The hints of worse things to come for Gavin and the CIA helps keep you invested in him as a main character, leaving you intrigued and wanting to know what deep dark secret he unknowingly keeps. Zoe is a strong female character with a very well hidden soft centre, like a mother hen looking out for her troop. So two independent characters both with flaws and secrets together they make the book an explosive , rollercoaster ride. I know i am wanting to read their next encounter together to see where they both end up.

My thanks to Emma Welton and Damppebbles Blogtours for my copy of the book, as always they are my own thoughts and opinions on the book.
